- You are sweet, sensitive, and love everything. You love animals, special treats, and especially your baby brother. You are the first to try to comfort him when he's upset and always try to give him hugs. You love to give hugs and when you're upset, the first thing you want is a hug from me.
- You love school and look forward to your school days every week. You have made several new friends and everyone seems to want to be your friend.
- You stay very busy with gymnastics and swimming and are hoping to start ballet in the future (if Daddy and I can find a way to squeeze it in). You also want to try softball in the spring and you've already got a pretty mean swing.
- Your favorite colors are pink and purple and you LOVE dresses - especially your long Peppa Pig dress and summer rainbow dress. You would wear them several times a week if I could get them washed that fast.
- You are a pretty good eater and will eat most things. Your favorites are peanut butter and sandwich (i.e., peanut butter and jelly) and chicken strips. You love mashed potatoes and call them story potatoes (about a year ago, you were taking FOREVER to eat [which, a year later is still a regular challenge], so Daddy negotiated with you that if you took a bite, he would tell you a story. I guess it stuck and now they're called story potatoes).
- You're still long and skinny - at your 5 year check up, you weighed 36 lbs 6 oz (25th percentile) and were 42.5" tall (69th percentile). We're patiently waiting for you to reach the 40 lb mark so that we can move you into a booster seat for the car, but it may be awhile.
- You have quite the imagination and love to build legos, play Barbies, play dress up, and dress your dolls. You love to be outside either playing in the snow or riding your bike.
- When in new situations, you still need time to adjust to your surroundings and tend to be a little timid and introverted at first. Once you've had a few minutes to acclimate, you completely open up and become quite extroverted.
- Over the past year there are 2 different things that you've said you want to be when you grow up - the first was a 'Queen Mama'. Now you say you want to be a 'Doctor Mama' (and your husband, Evan, will stay home with the kids).
- You are silly and love to tell silly stories. Here's one story Daddy captured in a conversation you had on the way to gymnastics...
E: Why don't you want to drive when you're older?
G: Because I'm going to be a queen.
E: Ok. That sounds good.
G: And queens don't drive. Do they daddy?
E: Yeah, I guess you're right. They don't drive.
G: I'm going to be a queen so I won't drive. And I don't want to crash like they did (referencing a very small fender bender we saw).
E: Well, if you're careful you won’t crash like them.
G: Anyway, I'll only ride in the back of carriages. Because I'll be a queen.
E: Will you let me catch a ride sometimes in your carriage.
G: No, because you'll be dead. You and mamma will be old and dead so you won't be able to ride. And you won't be a queen too.
You got to celebrate your birthday in Iowa and chose a Barbie cake. On your actual birthday, Daddy surprised you with red roses and donuts for breakfast (2 of your favorites). You couldn't wait to go to school and celebrate with cupcakes with your friends. After school, you had swimming lessons and then chose Arby's for your birthday dinner before opening presents at home.
Your birthday party was at Fort Clarkston, an indoor play ground with an awesome (and fast) slide. You had 5 friends come to your party - Callie, Elena, Evan (your boyfriend), Bennett, and Nolan -- a few others were invited, but couldn't come). You chose a DC Super Hero Girls theme and we decorated your cake with Wonder Woman, Super Girl, Poison Ivy, and Bat Girl.
