Cody's First Haircut

Cody finally got his first haircut just shy of 2 years old.  We picked a children's salon specifically because the chairs are shaped as vehicles.  I thought for sure that Cody would be more than willing to sit on a fire truck or motorcycle to get his hair cut.  Boy was I wrong!  There were lots of tears and screams involved until we finally gave up on the special kids chair and settled for the traditional grown up chair with him on my lap.  Despite the tears, the stylist did a pretty good job.  It's crazy how a simple haircut can change someone's look so much - he went in as a baby and out as a toddler!

Spring in Michigan

While it took a while for the weather to feel like spring, especially with a late spring snow storm, we have certainly made the most of it.

We've had lots of bike rides - Graecyn is working on getting comfortable on her bicycle.  She can scoot around easily on her balance bike, but once she gets on her pedal bike, she looses her confidence.  Cody loves to do everything Graecyn is doing and has mastered pedaling his tricycle on his own.

At the end of March, Grandma and Papa came for a fun visit.  We played games, rode the carousel at the mall, did some shopping, and ate lots of good food.  It was great!

Graecyn loves to help me with my flower garden and especially loves digging for worms, "cause they're so cute!"

We had a great Easter and both kids loved dying Easter eggs.  I didn't trust Cody with the egg dye, but he was perfectly happy to decorate his eggs with crayons.  The Easter bunny was good to the kids this year (maybe a little too good), bringing them both lots of new spring toys.

Graecyn had her spring concert at school.  She picked out her dress weeks in advance (a long flowy pink dress) and was nervous about performing in front of everyone.  She did great, despite her nerves.

Graecyn was "Star of the Week" at the end of the school year and got to fill out a special poster with all of her favorites.  Including: animal - flamingo, color - rainbow, food - chicken, pool - favorite place, swimming - thing to do.  When she grows up, she said she wants to be a princess and if she had one wish, she would wish for 100 baby brothers and sisters and a puppy!

We spent a day at the Leader Dogs for the Blind annual carnival with Graecyn's best friend, Callie.  Both kids had a great time.  Cody seems to love carnival rides, especially the fast spinning ones.

Happy Birthday, Mama!
