Happy Mother's Day!

It's Mother's Day...and I'm a mama!  On this day last year, Eric and I suspected we were pregnant, but didn't get official confirmation until the next day.  It's amazing to think about how much our lives have changed in the past year!

My first mother's day has been a great one.  Graecyn gave me a card and Eric got me a professional family photo - it will be our first professional photo as a family of 3 and I can't wait to get it done.  The best gift of all, though, was that Graecyn officially rolled from her back to her tummy!  She's been working hard to accomplish this over the past week or so, but could never get her arm out from under her.  She finally figured it out today and I'm so excited I got to witness it!

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms (and moms to be) out there.  I'm so excited to finally be part of this special club. :-)

4 Months Old!

Another month has passed…time is flying by!  Graecyn is doing great and Eric and I are loving this stage.  She is all smiles, laughs, coos and squeals.  She is very interactive and so much fun.  She is sitting up better, but still not able to sit on her own.  Her neck is getting so strong; Eric and I laugh because she looks like a bobble head when she sits up – her head wobbling all over…it’s pretty cute.  She still loves to cuddle, which Eric and I love as well.  We’ve finally gotten her to nap well…probably because we finally gave up and started moving her from snuggling on our chests to laying down in her pack-n-play for naps. J

She’s about 24 inches long (25th percentile) and approaching 12 pounds (5th percentile) (we'll get official numbers at her 4 month check-up on Friday)…she’s still a little peanut and finally on the growth chart for weight!  We recently moved her out of her bassinet and into her pack-n-play last week.  She’s still in our room and we’re planning to move her into her nursery and crib in the next week or so (as soon as Eric finishes building the crib).

She’s still a great sleeper, sleeping at least 8-9 hours straight at night.  She’s a little wiggle worm and we often find her lying sideways in the mornings with her arms out of the swaddle.  She never cries in the morning, instead she just “talks” when she’s awake until we go to her crib.  As soon as she sees us, her face lights up with a big smile.  It’s the best way to start the day.

She drools like crazy and loves chewing on her toys.  Anything that touches her hands instantly goes to her mouth.  She has found her hands and loves to look at them and move them around.  She also recently found her feet, but can’t quite get them to her mouth yet…it’s only a matter of time though.

She’s not rolling over yet, but is so close.  If she could only figure out how to move her arm out from underneath her, she would have it mastered.  She’s learned how to kick her legs and loves kicking like crazy, especially during bath time.

It’s been almost one year since we found out we were pregnant and this new and amazing journey began. Oh, how our lives have changed in the last year!
